2023: Umahi declares seven days fasting, prayers to complete all projects | NN NEWS

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Sunday, joined other Christians to fellowship at the new Government House Chapel, Abakaliki.

Speaking at the end of the Church service, Umahi called for prayers for a smooth transition to the next leaders of the state and the nation in general, as well as successful completion of all ongoing projects.

While declaring the seven days of fasting and prayers for the programmes of the State, Governor Umahi pledged to leave the decision of who replaces him to God and the people to ensure that those who would emerge would be magnanimous in victory.

“You cannot battle with the Lord. If he has said that he will bring it to pass, so if you plan to amass wealth through public office, God will resist you in 2023 in Jesus’ name, amen.

“Anything you are contesting that you don’t have peace, you have to avoid it. For me, I have left my life to God to manage and to manipulate and I am very convinced that since we could do what we did in Ebonyi State, God will show mercy and we will replicate what we have done here at the National level.

“The Presidency, at this time, is such that if God has not called you, it is going to be very difficult,” the Governor said.

The Chaplain of Government House Chapel, Pastor Eunice Oyeyemi, admonished Christians to always hold on to God in times of difficulty for a spiritual solution to their predicaments.

“Amid darkness, God’s light shines. When you go through challenges and you don’t have the right information, you are liable to be troubled. In the world, you have challenges but amid the challenges, there is always victory at last.

“Accept God’s word, God’s word can never come late. If God says you will have victory, you will have victory. If you believing, you will have victory, but if you doubt, you will fail. Don’t give in, don’t accept anything that is not consistent with the word of God.

“Life is spiritual, talk your way out, in the name of Jesus, I will live, I will not die, never talk in desolation, ask and you shall receive in joy, whatever you desire when you pray, believe you shall have them and it shall come to pass.

“If God decides to be with a man, it is inconsequential what the people think, what matters is what God himself thinks about you, Your Excellency, God is with you,” The Government House Chaplain said.
