Biafra De Facto Customary Government has strongly condemned what they described as “UNCERTAIN TERMS THE ‘UNPREPARED WAR AND VIOLENCE’ BEING UNLEASHED AND IMPOSED ON BIAFRALAND AND HER PEOPLE”
In a press statement on April 25, 2021, signed by the Head of Information and Communication, Diokpa Uche Okafor Mefor, of the Biafra De Facto Customary Government Implementation Committee acting on behalf of the Biafra De Facto Customary Government and led by our tested and competent Chairman, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, said that, we reassert that our struggle for the restoration of Biafra is anchored on non-violence.
We are not prepared for war, are not at war with the Nigerian state and until we meet and agree on a collective but not unilateral policy change in that direction, that position remains same and unaltered.
Part of the statement read; We monitors with serious concerns and as such condemns in no uncertain terms the ‘unprepared war and violence’ being unleashed and imposed on Biafraland and her people by some vested interests with obvious sinister motives.
We, accordingly, condemn in its entirety the associated wanton destruction of properties and systematic elimination of lives of the Biafran youths in different parts of Biafraland.
Furthermore, we reassert that our struggle for the restoration of Biafra is anchored on non-violence—–we are not prepared for war, are not at war with the Nigerian state and until we meet and agree on a collective but not unilateral policy change in that direction, that position remains same and unaltered.
A situation where our gallant young men who we know of their genuine and unquestionable commitment to the Biafran struggle are unnecessarily being wasted is unacceptable. Whatever is putting these our youths in harm’s way must be discouraged henceforth.
The pertinent question for all concerned is this: of what value it is or better still, what advantage does it add to the struggle and to us as Biafrans to prematurely risk and endanger the lives of our young men of valour whom we know are vital for the sustenance of the Biafran struggle? We, therefore, reiterate that we do not in the circumstance endorse the destruction or burning of police stations and other infrastructures or the killing of our fellow Biafrans in uniform, public officials, and our elders.
Finally, we call on and enjoin all Biafrans to join hands together, to continue to renew our commitment, protect our collective interest, continue to pay our allegiance to Biafra, our Heritage—-our Rock and our all, the statement said.
