Biafra must be a secular state, no imposition of religious belief on others – Mefor | NN NEWS

The deputy leader of the indigenous people of Biafra and one of the directors of Radio Biafra London, Uche Okafor Mefor has said, I stand by my position on religious freedom. No imposition of religious belief on others.

Mefor is the presenter of Biafra Human Rights Radio, and one of the people championing the unity of all pro Biafra groups for total reconciliation as a way forward to restore Biafra as soon as possible.

He said, Biafra must be a secular state. The sudden political statement and a subsequent volteface trying to assuage and recognising this reality several years later remained essentially an afterthought pandered to after a lot of ill feelings had been created. Regardless, there must be religious freedom in Biafraland.

The people of Biafra are the people of faith. There are etheists/traditionalists, Christians, Muslims etc. What Biafra needs are strong institutions that ensure equity, fairness and justice for all. Even in Israel, there is religious freedom, Mefor stated when he was quoting video interview of Israeli journalist with Nnamdi Kanu.
