Isreali film makers that were arrested and detained in Nigeria by the Department of Security Services (DSS) for 20 days over allegation of having affiliation with the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), a separatist movement seeking for the independence of the old Eastern region in Nigeria are set to release a movie tittled, ‘20 days captive in Nigeria’

The movie will depict how the Israeli filmmakers were arrested and detained for 20 days by the Department Of State Security Service – DSS upon their arrival in the country for a documentary project.

The Israelis during their detention by the secret police according to Times of Israel were in Nigeria to film “We Were Never Lost,” a documentary exploring Jewish communities in African countries such as Kenya, Madagascar, Uganda, and Nigeria.

Though, one of the family members of the men stressed to the Times of Israel that the allegations were entirely unfounded, and that separatist social media accounts took advantage of the Israelis’ trip to claim that the three were supporting Biafra separatist groups.

However, after some diplomatic fireworks from the Israeli High Commission in Nigeria, the trio were released without any charges filed against them.
