The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barr. Olisa Metuh has, on Thursday, been released from Kuje Prison in Abuja.

Chief Metuh was released after perfecting all documentations and is already headed to his house.

Olisah Metuh was sentenced to seven years in prison for accepting and disbursing four hundred million Naira from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki [retd].

The Court of Appeal, however, quashed the judgment and ordered a retrial of the case.

The appellate court judge accused the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, of apparent bias against the defendant.

Some political pundits, meanwhile, questioned the rationale of jailing Metuh while Dasuki walks free after he was granted bail.
