Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has rewarded a woman, Mrs Eunice Ngozi Onuegbusi, who rejected the bribe-for-vote offered by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recently concluded Anambra State governorship election with one million Naira, according to Elombah News.
The election, which held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, saw Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) emerge winner.
Governor Obiano rewarded Mrs Onuegbusi, who hails from Ukwulu (Amagu village) Ward 1, Polling Unit 04, Dunukofia Local Government, with the sum for her courageous stance after she was approached by APC agents with five thousand Naira.
In a viral video, the woman was seen vehemently making the rejection from APC agents in her polling unit in order for her to vote against her conscience.
Reacting to the development, Prof. Soludo said: “With people like her (Mrs Eunice Ngozi Onuegbusi), there is a great hope!”
