FG will not suspend Facebook if they refuse to ban IPOB on its platform, says Lai | NN NEWS

The Federal Government on Wednesday said it has no plans to suspend Facebook, other social media platforms if it failed to stop Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from spreading their news of mass murderers and misery in Nigeria.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had said the government will be monitoring Facebook and other newspapers to ensure that they are overlooked at the complaints they have given.

Lai Mohammed addressing journalists after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, said Facebook has assured that it will take action against posts that incite violence on its platform.

Reacting to the ministers who declared their intention to seek elective positions but were yet to resign their appointment, the minister explained that President Muhammadu Buhari has the sole power to confirm the status of the affected ministers.
