Gunmen on Saturday, killed a community leader, Alhaji Adamu Gabdo, the Ardo of Panyam in Mangu local government area of Plateau State.
The Transition Committee chairman of Mangu local government area, Markus Artu, announced the killing of Adamu in a statement.
He described it “barbaric” and “a deliberate act by criminals to throw the council into yet another round of chaos.”
Artu, who told the public that security operatives are currently on the hunt for the killers, also distanced himself from the tragedy.
According to him, the Mangu people had since resolved to live peacefully with one another, regardless of tribe or religion, and would not let anyone stand in their way.
