New service chiefs storm Maiduguri to tackle Boko Haram insurgency | NN NEWS

The new service chiefs have reportedly arrived Maiduguri, Borno State capital with the view to meet with critical stakeholders to brainstorm on how to tackle Boko Haram insurgency in the theatre of war. 

NN News had reported that President Muhammad Buhari met with the newly appointed Service Chiefs, said to them, we’re in a state of emergency and you must meet the expectations of Nigerians to avoid the country collapsing. 

The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Leo Irabor led the service chiefs to the Headquarters of Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri at about 1:30pm on Sunday. 

According to Daily Trust, A top security source who confided in our correspondent posited that the service chiefs along with the other stakeholders are expected to brainstorm and re-strategise in order to come up with an approach that will ensure lasting peace in the region. 

The reports learnt that all the recently appointed service chiefs including the Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. General Leo Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Maj. General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao were all in attendance.
