Enugu State government has officially announced schools both primary and secondary will resume for third term academic activities on the September 28, 2020.
In a statement on September 23, 2029 by the Enugu Commissioner of Educated, Professor Uche Eze said the decision to resume academic activities in the state was taken after “Enugu State Education sector stakeholders’ consensus and gracious approval of His Excellency the Governor”.
Professor Eze said that no individual will be allowed to enter into the school without facemask and a strong team have been constituted both at the State and local government level to monitor full compliance with the approved guidelines for the safety of all that operate in our schools.
He however, warned that junior secondary three and primary six students are not to resume with others because they just concluded their examinations.

“Following the Enugu State Education sector stakeholders’ consensus and gracious approval of His Excellency the Governor for the phased re-opening of schools in Enugu State, the Hon. Commissioner of Education wishes to inform the general public that all Primary and Secondary schools in the state are to re-open for 3rd term academic activities on Monday 28th September, 2020”.
“It is important to note that necessary measures have been put in place in our schools for safe re-opening. Teachers/ students/pupils are therefore requested to ensure that they abide by the approved guidelines on COVID-19. No person will be allowed into any school without appropriate facemask/shield”.
“Strong monitoring teams at state and Local Government Areas have been constituted to monitor compliance with the approved guidelines for the safety of all that operate in our schools”.
“Note: Primary six and Junior Secondary three students have completed their examinations and are not expected to be back to school”.
